Information and restrictions due to the Coronavirus situation

The public health authorities estimate that the risk of the coronavirus spreading among the general public in Europe is very high. BIM Kemi must take the responsibility to do what we can to help stop the spread. For that reason, we have extended our policy further regarding visits and travelling.

INTERNAL TRAVELLING

  • No internal travelling between our local operations.
  • Only business-critical travels to customers are allowed.
  • Use Skype for meetings.

VISITS TO OUR OFFICES AND PRODUCTION UNITS

  • Limit to business-critical visits to our units.
  • Visitors who have been in infected areas the last 14 days are declined to enter our premises.

The BIM representative is responsible for ensuring that visitors comply with the above guidelines and restrictions regarding travelling and quarantine.

DELIVERIES TO AND FROM OUR PRODUCTION UNITS

  • During loading and unloading, transport companies shall have minimum necessary interactions with our staff to complete delivery or pick-up.
  • Local and national disease prevention and control should be followed, and deliveries must be adopted accordingly.

FINANCIAL CONSEQUENCES

  • Do not start any new projects that involve external costs.
  • Pause ongoing non-business-critical projects that involve external costs.
  • Stop all external costs that are not business-critical.
  • Freeze planned investments.
  • Help each other across borders and departments with operational efforts.

IMPORTANCE OF PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY AND GOOD HYGIENE

  • We emphasize the importance of good hygiene, such as thorough handwashing and avoiding close physical contact.
  • Stay home if you display any symptoms of disease

PREVIOUS RESTRICTIONS STILL APPLY

  • Postpone all travelling to affected areas.
  • All employees who have already visited affected areas have to work from home during a two-week quarantine period.
  • If you are planning to travel to affected areas on your own free time you are obliged to inform your local Country Manager who will decide about necessary actions on your return.
  • Always respect and follow customer and supplier statements and guidelines.

It is everyone’s responsibility to keep up to date with the latest risk area warnings in accordance with global and local authorities. The European Centre for Disease Prevention & Control website continuously updates on infected areas https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/home

In case of uncertainty, please contact your Country Manager for advice.
