BIM Kemi presents a new, fossil-free and high-performance dispersion solution for pitch control in the pulp industry – developed and synthesised using a new method based entirely on renewable raw materials. The new technology combines, where necessary, advanced surface and colloid chemistry with the company’s proven detackifiers and cationic fixatives to create a complete and sustainable concept for modern pulp processes.
Traditionally, talc and petrochemical dispersing agents have been the standard for counteracting resin and pitch problems. However, today’s processes set new requirements: higher circulation of fibre and water, a greater proportion of recycled material, and increased sustainability targets. Our solution is designed to meet these demands – without talc, with fossil-free raw materials, and without compromising on efficiency.
BIM has been a market-leading pioneer in pitch removal chemistry since the 1980s. We are now taking a step towards a new technological leap with new green chemicals. The fossil-free components in our dispersion chemical offer stable emulsification, effective detackification, and reliable colloidal control throughout the process – from the digester to the wire section. The result is cleaner systems, fewer deposits, and more consistent runnability, while the carbon footprint is significantly reduced.
Together with our pitch removal agents in digesters, fixatives, and detackifiers, the solution can be tailored for each process, providing maximum process control and minimal environmental impact. The new technology represents the next step in BIM’s long tradition of innovation and entrepreneurship in pulp and paper chemistry – where sustainability and performance go hand in hand.
“As an entrepreneur, I am proud of what our skilled technicians will soon be able to introduce to our customers. This project is fully in line with the focus we have maintained since the company was founded – to develop sustainable, efficient, and modern solutions, a cornerstone of our success story,” says our founder and owner Peter Wållberg.
